8. Attaching Text to a Path

Attaching text to a path is a Fireworks feature that allows text to follow around the edge of a shape, such as a semi-circle as shown below. This can be a nice feature when creating a company logo.

This exercise also demonstrates a quicker method of inserting new frames as part of an animation.

What you have to do!

  1. Watch the movie to discover how to bend text into different shapes and get all in a spin.

  2. Create text that is attached to a path as shown in the movie. You can chose the text and shape to attach the text to. Save the file as attaching_text.png.

  3. Try to create the animation effect shown on the movie using your own text. You can use the file   globe.png   as a centre piece of the animation as in the movie or you can find your own image from the Internet to use to create an eye catching animation.

  4. Tick off exercise 8  in your progress grids

8.   Bending text to shapes and even more animation.

Stuck? Not sure how the above is useful? Any comments at all? This is the place to put them.
